In 2012, my business partner and I invested a significant amount of capital into building a multi-let portfolio. Once we had achieved this, we were able to supply the professional house share market with 200 rooms, while generating a good yield from our property portfolio.

Having no intention of managing this portfolio ourselves, we searched the market high and low for a lettings agency that understood the requirements needed to do this for us. It soon became apparent that this knowledge and experience wasn’t available. We could not find a lettings agency that was expert on multi-let operations, legislation and regulation. There was also little knowledge and experience out there about the specific requirements needed to effectively reduce costs and maximise returns. Needless to say, a couple of trial and terror horror stories later, we had no alternative but to formalise and launch Multi-Let UK ourselves. We achieved this in 2013.

Three years and several hundred-thousand pounds later, Multi-Let UK now delivers a bespoke portfolio management service. We operate exclusively within the professional house share sector providing our clients with a range of accommodation that is now rapidly heading towards 1,000 rooms from five offices around the UK.
